Cheyenne lowered the designer sunglasses over her eyes and slid onto the front seat of Adam’s car. Going back to her hotel room alone hadn’t even been an option. Adam insisted on accompanying her. Once there, he took it a step further and followed her up to the suite to pack all of her things to take back to his place. Adam wouldn’t have it any other way. He was determined to protect her from his cousins.

Who’s going to protect me from him?

She swallowed at the thought. Better yet, how was she going to get him to understand just because she slept with him didn’t mean he was now in control?

You’re not the boss of me.

Yeah, right. Adam was so arrogant and controlling there was no way she would waste time telling him she wanted to be left alone. She groaned because he reminded her so much of her brothers. But there was nothing sibling about the way he made her feel. How stupid of her to think that she could give him her virginity and he would just walk away. Adam wasn’t a boy. He was too much of a man for that and now that he knew he had been her first there was no way he was just going to stand by and allow another Were to claim her as his mate. She should have felt relieved, and maybe if the situation had been different she might have been overjoyed.

Ever since they’d left Adam’s place, he’d been quiet, almost distant and it made her wonder if she had done the right thing. Of course you have. She was a young, independent woman, who had a right to make her own choices about her future and for one night, she had chosen Adam.

He was gorgeous and made her feel things she had never felt with another Were which was probably why she had held on to her virginity for so long. There had always been something special between them and last night, being in his bed with his naked body beside her, had only proven what she had always known, her wolf had been waiting to mate with him.

Cheyenne gasped at the realization.

Now what? Her father would never approve and if his cousins ever found out… well, she didn’t want to think about what they might do to Adam because it was nothing good.

“You ever been jet skiing?” he asked breaking into her thoughts.

She shook her head. “Never.”

His eyes twinkled with mischief. “Then I guess today’s your lucky day.”
